Coastal Software Customer Services
Clientele Education: Clientele Help Desk v7
The course is designed for a system administrator, a
programmer who will be using Clientele Basic or a similarly key Clientele user.
Students will learn how to use and train others on Clientele. They will also
learn how to set up and administer Clientele, including tips on configuring your
system for the most efficient and effective operation. Students will review
performance issues and will also learn how to use Microsoft Access to create
informative, professional looking reports.
All Clientele classes assume that students have a
solid knowledge of Windows NT and 95, and a basic understanding of relational
databases. Before attending Clientele training you:
- Should know how to copy, rename, and delete
files in Windows. You must be comfortable with subdirectories and the
AUTOEXEC.BAT, .INI, and CONFIG.SYS files.
- Should know what a relational database is and
be familiar with general database terms.
- Should understand how your company plans to
use Clientele.
- Must have a basic knowledge of Microsoft
Access for database maintenance, reporting, queries, and importing.
The course is divided into three sections:
- In the first section, you will become familiar
with the new user interface to our internal support product. Functions
demonstrated in this section are those that will be performed by the typical
user.
- In the second section, we will cover those
tasks that are normally the responsibility of the Clientele administrator
(e.g., user setup, security, system setup, etc).
- The third section covers other administrative
tasks, many of which are outside Clientele product. It covers such topics as
data import, modifying table structure, building queries, and developing
reports in MS Access. Though the course does not include Clientele Basic it
will show the student how to make minor modifications to forms and controls
to suit your business needs. Also included in this section is training on
the use of Conductor.
